Just arrived at the hotel in San Antonio! Best way to describe the trip so far? Delicious and exciting! After landing, our first stop was the apartment complex where my parents were living when they met (got to see the place that we’ve heard so many stories about!). It was drizzling when we got here, so we decided to just drive around the city and take in the sights. I really like the feel of this city…and there’s country music everywhere, so I definitely could get used to that. My dad (who is the opposite of a country music fan) is not too happy about it, but ehhh a little Luke Bryan never hurt anyone!
We went to the Alamo Cafe for dinner, and I completely gorged myself on floutas, queso, guacamole, and handmade tortillas. These tortillas were beyond amazing…they’re like fluffy white clouds of Tex-Mex deliciousness. We’re staying on the Riverwalk and going to wander around and see what hidden San Antonio gems we can find. I’m hoping to find some cute jewelry or maybe a sweet treat…and Aidan said he’s most definitely on the search for ice cream.
Tomorrow will be another adventure…I think that we’re going to visit that Alamo and maybe visit the Zoo!! Excited to be on my first gap year trip (even though it’s not as far from home as Tanzania. HA!) and blessed to be able to capture the memories here on my blog.
