It’s hard to believe that our trip to London is essentially over! We just got back from seeing “Comedy of Errors” at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre—all I can say is wow! Sitting in the open air theatre on the hard wooden benches watching the actors and actresses bring the iconic show to life was a phenomenal experience. There’s something magic about the works of Shakespeare, but something almost breathtaking about it coming alive in the Globe Theatre. Earlier today we went to Café Diana, a little restaurant outside Kensington Palace where Princess Diana used to get pita sandwiches. It was kind of hard to enjoy my food with photos of Princess Di staring at me from every direction, but an experience is an experience (whether it freaks you out or not!). Then it was off to the Portobello Street Market; we spent the afternoon shopping for everything from antique clocks to dresses, and walked away with quite a few cool purchases if I do say so myself! Then we grabbed pizza, beer, and hard cider on the way to the Globe and spent the evening there! Yesterday, we spent the WHOLE DAY at the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour – wow! I’d wanted to go see the sets since the attraction opened two years ago, but it still feels like a dream that I was there. Not I know it seems kind of foolish to be that excited about something seemingly mundane, but I’m a (not-so-secret) Harry Potter nerd and I loved every second of it! From actually standing in the Great Hall to walking through Dumbledore’s office to prancing down Diagon Alley or seeing the model of Hogwards used in all the movies, it was every HP fan’s dream. It’s a cheesy pun, but it truly was magical. Honestly, our whole trip was magical. I did so many things that were on my bucket list, made so many unexpectedly wonderful memories, and had a multitude of once-in-a-lifetime experiences. London will always hold a special place in my heart, and I surely will be back again. There’s something really special and unique about this place that’s hard to put into words, and I can’t wait to eventually explore it more (well…and I love pubs and meat pies!).
